Blue & Gold Fleet has been the premier provider of ferry and water excursion services on San Francisco Bay for over 40 years, offering the famous one-hour San Francisco Bay Cruise, the 90-minute Escape from the Rock Cruise around Alcatraz Island and a Sunset Cruise.
The company provides regular ferry service across the bay through its contract with the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) service to: Harbor Bay, Main Street Alameda, Oakland, Richmond, Seaplane Lagoon, South San Francisco, Vallejo, Oracle Park (for San Francisco Giants games and special events) and Chase Center (for Golden State Warriors & Valkyries games and special events). Blue & Gold Fleet operates a fleet of 25 vessels.
Our engineering team maintains one of the largest and most diverse passenger ferry fleets on the Bay. We are committed to operating safe, reliable vessels through professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship. Every member of our engineering department plays a critical role in ensuring our vessels are ready to safely serve thousands of passengers every day.
The Vessel Engineer is responsible for maintaining the safe, reliable, and operational condition of company vessels in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations and company standards.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a marine engineer within the small passenger vessel industry or equivalent field.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience maintaining diesel engines, marine electrical systems, hydraulics, pumps, propulsion equipment, and auxiliary machinery is preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record for the past five (5) years. (Travel between Vallejo, Alameda, and San Francisco facilities may be required.)
Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), or the ability to obtain one.
Rate: $46.26 - 59.68 per hour (DOE)
