Universal Solutions International (USI) is seeking a highly experienced Senior UAS Pilot to support Research, Test, Training, and Evaluation (RTTE) operations. The selected candidate will serve as the senior flight lead for maritime-based UAS operations supporting radar calibration, sensor validation, counter-UAS testing, and operational demonstrations.
This position requires demonstrated experience conducting UAS operations from vessels underway, executing precise flight profiles, and operating safely in dynamic maritime environments. The Senior Pilot will work directly with Government personnel to plan, coordinate, and execute flight operations in support of mission objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Former U.S. military service member (Active, Reserve, or Guard)
- Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Minimum of 10 years of UAS operational experience
- Minimum of 1,500 documented flight hours in UAS, military aviation, or a combination of bot
- Demonstrated experience launching and recovering UAS from vessels while underway
- Experience operating from cutters, patrol craft, RHIBs, military vessels, offshore support vessels, or similar maritime platforms
- Experience planning and executing Red Team or threat-representative flight profiles
- Experience supporting test, evaluation, training, or operational exercises involving UAS
- Working knowledge of airspace management, airspace deconfliction, and operational risk management
- Experience operating in elevated wind conditions, vessel motion, and maritime environments
- Ability to travel and support operations throughout the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Prior U.S. Coast Guard operational experience
- U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Naval Special Warfare, Special Operations Forces, ISR, or maritime aviation experience
- Experience supporting Counter-UAS testing, developmental testing, operational testing, or RDT&E programs
- Experience supporting radar calibration, sensor characterization, electronic warfare testing, or RF mitigation activities
- Experience serving as Pilot in Command for maritime UAS operations
- Experience operating DJI, Autel, Skydio, fixed-wing, and custom-built UAS platforms
- Current or previous security clearance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of small UAS operations in maritime environments
- Ability to execute precise and repeatable flight profiles in support of sensor testing and calibration activities
- Ability to safely launch, recover, and operate UAS from moving vessels
- Strong mission planning, crew coordination, and operational risk management skills
- Ability to lead flight operations and mentor junior pilots and visual observers
- Ability to troubleshoot aircraft, batteries, controllers, software, and support equipment in the field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision in support of Government test events
Preferred Candidate
The preferred candidate is a former military UAS operator, military aviator, or maritime aviation professional with extensive experience conducting operational UAS missions from vessels underway. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of maritime operations, Red Team flight profiles, and Government test and evaluation activities, with a demonstrated record of safe, reliable mission execution.
