Job Summary An experienced QMED / Motorman is needed for a deepwater drillship operating in the Gulf. This relief hitch is suited for someone with prior offshore experience who can step onboard and immediately support the engine department. In this role, you will assist the engineers with the daily operation, inspection, and maintenance of engine room machinery and auxiliary equipment in a fast-paced offshore environment.
Responsibilities
- Support engineers with day-to-day engine room operations, inspections, and maintenance
- Perform routine machinery rounds and record operating pressures, temperatures, and fluid levels
- Complete lubrication tasks, filter changes, and minor mechanical repairs
- Clean and maintain engine spaces to support safe, efficient operations
- Assist with preventive maintenance and equipment overhauls as directed
- Work around diesel-electric power generation and related systems, including pumps, compressors, purifiers, cooling systems, fuel systems, and other machinery supporting drilling and marine operations
Requirements
- Previous offshore experience (required)
- Drillship experience (strongly preferred)
- USCG MMC with appropriate QMED endorsement
- Current USCG Medical Certificate with STCW
- BOSIET / FOET / THUET
- RigPass / SafeGulf
- TWIC
- U.S. Passport or government-issued ID
- Foreign flag credential (as required)
- Up-to-date resume
- Ability to follow direction, work safely, and support the engineering team wherever needed in a busy offshore engine room
