We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Port Engineer to oversee the maintenance of maritime vessels, shipping equipment, operating equipment operation, and port/shipping terminal facilities. This pivotal role involves managing onboard vessel engineers/mechanics, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and coordinating with diverse teams to optimize equipment performance. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to process management, project scheduling, and technical problem-solving, all while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Develop detailed plans to assure maintenance of shipping equipment and operating equipment, integrating mechanical, electrical, and structural plans.
- Manage various levels of personnel supporting mechanical, electrical and structural repairs, to include planned maintenance and repair as well as unplanned, crisis oriented challenges, as well as general facility maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs such as ISM / SMS to include standard safety protocols.
- Collaborate with and manage third party maintenance providers, providing technical guidance of work performed on all systems, to include participating in the decision process related to engaging a third party resource.
- Maintain comprehensive records of system design modifications, inspection reports, and project progress updates.
- Ensure shoreside and vessel inventory details are properly recorded and maintained.
Experience
- Proven experience in scheduling and management within shipping terminal and maritime maintenance environments.
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical principles combined with hands-on experience in construction or system installation projects.
- Proficiency in use of computers to include various type of software.
- Familiarity with electrical systems to include tracing and troubleshooting systemic failures.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across maintenance disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and structural (welding).
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
