Ordinary Seaman (OS) – Offshore Dive Support Vessels
Location: Houma, LA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: As-needed offshore rotations (no fixed hitch)
Overview
Leviathan Offshore is a commercial diving company operating multiple support vessels, and we are looking for motivated Ordinary Seamen (OS) to join our offshore team. This role supports general deck operations, vessel handling, and dive-support activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, communication, and reliability.
Our project load runs year-round, and vessel schedules vary based on dive operations. Because we do not operate on a fixed hitch system, OS personnel who stay available and responsive have uncapped earning potential tied directly to project volume and vessel demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic deck operations, line handling, rigging, and vessel housekeeping
- Support dive teams during launch, recovery, and deck preparation
- Maintain deck equipment and report any deficiencies
- Participate in JSA, toolbox talks, and PTW compliance
- Stand watches as assigned and follow direction from senior deck crew
- Work closely with captains, engineers, ABs, and divers to ensure safe and efficient operations
Qualifications
- Valid MMC with OS endorsement
- TWIC and applicable offshore certifications (HUET, SafeGulf/SafeLand)
- Prior maritime or offshore experience preferred but not required
- Strong work ethic, situational awareness, and willingness to learn
- Ability to mobilize quickly when vessels are scheduled
