OILER/MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY:

To ensure safe and efficient operation of the engines and associated systems while underway, as well as maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Engine Room and other associated systems and spaces onboard. This is a full time position, and this individual answers to the Chief Engineer.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oilers/ Maintenance Technicians maintain the overall operations of these engines and associated systems, by way of maintaining proper levels of lubricating oils and greases in the different places where these means of lubrication are necessary.

DETAILED DUTIES:

Including, but not limited to:

• Maintaining proper levels of lubricating oils in engines and associated parts.
• Greasing the paddlewheel bearings and associated pieces as necessary.
• Sweeping and mopping the Engine Room/ associated spaces.
• Changing filters, oil, lubricating oils, etc. on engines and other operationally-associated systems.
• Assisting the Chief Engineer with maintenance and repairs to the HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems onboard the vessel.
• Misc. white-work scrubbing and painting as needed.
• Assisting the Chief Engineer with any misc. projects that come up during the course of normal operation.
• Assisting the Chief Engineer with any emergency situations that may arise during operation.
• Salary: $16.00/$17.00 per hour with prior experience

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
