Marine Engineer

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced marine engineer, vessel engineer, offshore engineer, or marine operations professional looking to transition into a stable, shoreside leadership role.

The successful candidate will bring strong mechanical and engineering expertise, a hands-on understanding of vessel systems, and the ability to coordinate people, projects, and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day boatyard operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Coordinate marine technicians, mechanics, and outside contractors.
• Troubleshoot and oversee repairs involving marine diesel engines, mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical equipment, and vessel systems.
• Manage vessel maintenance, repair schedules, and project timelines.
• Support vessel haul-outs, launches, inspections, and seasonal maintenance activities.
• Ensure technicians have the equipment, materials, and direction needed to complete projects.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, management, and technical teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

Required:

• Significant hands-on experience in marine engineering, vessel maintenance, diesel mechanics, or marine operations.
• Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems and technical troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead technicians and coordinate multiple projects.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Yarmouth, Maine.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
