Marine Engineer – Merchant Marine / Shoreside

We are particularly interested in engineers coming from commercial vessels, container ships, tankers, offshore vessels, or other Merchant Marine environments.

The position requires a strong, well-rounded mechanical background. The right candidate does not need to come directly from the recreational boat or yacht industry; Royal River is interested in technically strong engineers who can troubleshoot complex systems and adapt their experience to smaller vessels.

Key Experience We're Looking For

• Merchant Marine or commercial vessel engineering experience
• Marine diesel engines and mechanical systems
• Hydraulics and pumps
• Refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Electrical troubleshooting
• Generators and auxiliary equipment
• Preventive maintenance and repair
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work across multiple vessel systems rather than specializing in only one area

This is particularly well suited for a former Chief Engineer, First Assistant Engineer, Second Assistant Engineer, Third Assistant Engineer, QMED, or experienced marine engineer who wants to come ashore permanently.
