Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Marine Engineer, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and repair of marine propulsion systems and electrical systems on water transportation vessels. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components to ensure vessel safety and operational efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, technical drawings, multimeters (ohmmeters), calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct repairs on marine propulsion systems, electrical wiring, sheet metal fabrication, welding, soldering, and rigging tasks using hand tools and power tools.
  • Interpret technical schematics and diagrams to facilitate accurate assembly, disassembly, repairs, and modifications of marine equipment.
  • Maintain ship electrical systems by replacing faulty components, calibrating instruments, and ensuring compliance with safety standards including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in the fabrication of parts or components as needed for repairs or upgrades using sheet metal work and welding techniques.
  • Support water transportation operations by performing heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to execute maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) activities efficiently while providing excellent customer service to vessel operators.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic results for compliance and future reference.

Experience

  • Proven service technician experience in marine or heavy machinery environments with a strong understanding of marine engine repair and mechanical systems repair.
  • Hands-on experience with ship electrical systems troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and marine electrical systems maintenance.
  • Familiarity with marine propulsion systems maintenance including engines powered by diesel mechanics or similar heavy-duty engines.
  • Knowledge of water transportation equipment maintenance including rigging, sheet metal fabrication, welding (including soldering), and assembly processes.
  • Experience working with technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics is essential for accurate diagnostics and repairs.
  • Prior military experience or training in engineering troubleshooting is highly advantageous due to the disciplined approach required for complex system repairs.
  • Ability to operate hand tools such as calipers, soldering irons, power tools safely while performing precision measurements or fabrication tasks.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to effectively communicate repair needs or technical issues to clients or team members.

Pay: $59,441.30 - $71,585.22 per year
