Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled License Mate Pilot to join our maritime operations team. In this vital role, you will assist in the safe and efficient navigation, management, and operation of vessels within water transportation environments. Your expertise will ensure compliance with maritime safety procedures, US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations, and vessel maintenance standards. As a License Mate Pilot, you will support vessel handling, crew management, and water transportation logistics to uphold the highest safety and operational standards.

Duties

• Assist the captain in navigating vessels using marine navigation systems and maritime piloting techniques
• Support vessel management tasks including docking, undocking, and maneuvering in confined or challenging waterways
• Conduct rigging and manual handling operations for cargo loading, securing, and unloading activities
• Perform routine water transportation equipment maintenance and inspections to ensure vessel safety and functionality
• Manage crew communication effectively, ensuring clear instructions and coordination during vessel operations
• Oversee heavy lifting operations safely in accordance with maritime safety procedures and industry best practices
• Maintain compliance with USCG regulations by documenting vessel activities, safety checks, and incident reports

Experience

• Proven expertise in boat handling, marine navigation systems, and vessel management
• Hands-on experience with rigging, mechanical knowledge of water transportation equipment, and vessel maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams as a ship supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the maritime crew environment
• Familiarity with maritime safety procedures, USCG regulations, and water transportation industry standards
• Strong skills in crew management, communication within maritime crews, and managing complex vessel operations
• Prior experience with heavy lifting operations, mechanical troubleshooting, and manual handling tasks aboard vessels
