Job Title: Laborer

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Laborer and occasional Deckhand to support day-to-day operations on and around barges, docks, and industrial equipment. This role requires strong physical ability, a safety-first mindset, and the willingness to work in challenging environments, including extreme weather and active marine settings. This role also requires someone to be willing to independently complete smaller tasks. The ideal candidate is hands-on, motivated, and able to take direction while contributing to a productive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with barge operations and perform occasional deckhand duties.
  • Safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts and long-reach machinery (experience preferred).
  • Assemble docks and related structures.
  • Use power tools and hand tools efficiently and safely.
  • Read and use a tape measure accurately for construction or fitting tasks.
  • Maintain work areas by organizing tools, cleaning up debris, and following housekeeping standards.
  • Independently complete smaller tasks such as weed whacking and general shop and site clean up and organizing.
  • Work safely around water, heavy machinery, and industrial equipment at all times.
  • Follow supervisor’s instructions promptly and accurately.
  • Perform mechanical tasks and basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and work independently when required.
  • Support long-hour shifts during busy or emergency operations.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and demonstrate strong personal safety judgment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding labor.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind).
  • Comfortable working on and around water.
  • Experience with power tools and some basic mechanical skills.
  • Strong coordination, common sense, and situational awareness.
  • Ability to follow instructions, take feedback, and work as a team player.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior deckhand or marine environment experience.
  • Dock construction or assembly background.
  • Equipment, machinery and hand tool experience
  • Additional equipment certifications (forklift certification, etc.).

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
