Job Description

Prestige Watersports of Dallas provides premium recreational water experiences with a strong

commitment to excellence, professionalism, safety, and exceptional guest experiences. Our team

creates memorable yacht and watersports experiences for celebrations, social gatherings, private

events, and recreational rentals while maintaining a fun, polished, and professional environment.

We are currently seeking a dependable, energetic, and hospitality-focused Deckhand to join our

team.

Position Overview

The Deckhand plays an important role in both the safe operation of our vessels and the overall

guest experience. This position assists the Captain with docking, departure, vessel preparation,

cleaning, guest safety, and general onboard operations.

Deckhands also assist with our Jet Ski and Jet Car rental operations, including preparing

equipment for rentals, assisting customers before and after their rental, helping with launching

and docking, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and ready for the next guest.

This is a hands-on position that combines boating, watersports, hospitality, customer service,

and safety. Deckhands should be comfortable working around the water, interacting with guests,

handling watersports equipment, and staying physically active throughout their shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Hospitality

 Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.

 Assist guests with safely boarding and exiting the yacht.

 Ensure all required liability waivers and forms are completed and signed by guests

before participation in yacht charters, Jet Ski rentals, or Jet Car rentals.

 Review and clearly communicate yacht rules, Jet Ski and Jet Car rules, and

applicable safety procedures with guests prior to departure or operation.

 Ensure guests understand important safety expectations and answer questions regarding

company rules and procedures.

 Verify that guests have received required safety instructions before participating in

watersports activities.

 Provide attentive and courteous service throughout each charter.

 Assist guests with general onboard needs and questions.

 Help create a fun, welcoming, and upscale atmosphere while maintaining professional

boundaries.

 Monitor guest areas and proactively address cleanliness, safety, or service needs.

 Assist with guest belongings, coolers, supplies, and other items as needed.

 Professionally communicate and reinforce company, vessel, and watersports rules when

necessary.

Vessel Operations & Safety

 Assist the Captain with docking, undocking, lines, fenders, and other deck operations.

 Follow all instructions provided by the Captain related to vessel operations and safety.

 Maintain awareness of guests while the vessel is underway.

 Help ensure walkways, stairs, decks, and guest areas remain safe and free of hazards.

 Know the location and basic use of onboard safety equipment.

 Assist during emergency situations according to Captain instructions and company

procedures.

 Immediately report safety concerns, guest incidents, vessel damage, or equipment

problems to the Captain.

Jet Ski & Jet Car Rentals

 Assist with Jet Ski and Jet Car rental operations.

 Operate both the Jet Ski and Jet Car.

 Prepare Jet Skis and Jet Cars for scheduled rentals.

 Assist customers with check-in and getting safely situated on the equipment.

 Provide customers with basic operating and safety instructions in accordance with

company procedures.

 Assist with launching, docking, securing, and retrieving Jet Skis and Jet Cars.

 Help ensure guests are wearing required safety equipment before departure.

 Inspect rental equipment before and after use and immediately report damage or

mechanical concerns.

 Clean, organize, and prepare rental equipment between customers.

 Assist with life jackets and other required watersports equipment.

 Help maintain an organized and safe rental area.

 Provide friendly and professional customer service throughout the rental experience.

 Follow company procedures regarding rental equipment, guest safety, and incident

reporting.

Yacht Preparation & Cleaning

 Prepare the yacht before each charter, including cleaning and organizing guest areas.

 Ensure decks, seating areas, cabin spaces, bathrooms, and other assigned areas are clean

and guest-ready.

 Stock designated supplies before departure.

 Maintain cleanliness throughout the charter by collecting trash, wiping surfaces, and

keeping common areas organized (this includes cleaning the bathroom).

 Complete post-charter cleaning and reset the vessel for the next trip.

 Assist with routine vessel upkeep and organization.

 Report damaged, missing, or low-stock items.

Qualifications

 Must be at least 16 years old.

 Must have a valid Texas Boater Education Certificate (commonly referred to as a

boater's license) or meet company requirements for obtaining one prior to

beginning deckhand duties.

 Must be comfortable working with and around Jet Skis, Jet Cars, yachts, and other

watercraft.

 Must be dependable, punctual, and able to arrive ready to work at the scheduled time.

 Strong customer service and communication skills.

 Must be comfortable speaking to groups of guests and clearly explaining rules and safety

procedures.

 Professional appearance and attitude.

 Ability to remain calm and respectful when interacting with guests.

 Comfortable working outdoors in heat, sun, wind, and changing weather conditions.

 Comfortable working around water and on moving vessels.

 Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, and remain physically active for

extended periods.

 Ability to safely lift and carry approximately 40–50 lbs.

 Ability to follow directions and work effectively under the Captain's and management's

leadership.

 Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and varying charter schedules as needed.

 Reliable transportation to the marina is required.

Previous boating, watersports, hospitality, restaurant, event, tourism, or customer-service

experience is preferred but not required.

situations appropriately.

 Safety-conscious – Understands that guest and crew safety always comes first.

 Comfortable around the water – Enjoys working in a marina and watersports

environment.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay: $15.00 per hour

This is a part-time, seasonal position based on yacht charters and watersports rental demand.

During our busy season, Deckhands typically work approximately 20–25 hours per week.

Actual weekly hours may vary based on charter and rental bookings, weather, and business

needs.

Availability may be needed for:

 Weekdays

 Weekends

 Evenings

 Holidays

 Special events

Weekend availability and schedule flexibility are strongly preferred.
