Deckhand (Lihue, Kauai)

Position Overview

Join the Kauaʻi Beach Boys crew at Nāwiliwili Small Boat Harbor! We are looking for an energetic, dependable Deckhand to deliver unforgettable experiences for our guests on board our 50ft Power Catamaran. This position supports the captain with vessel operations, passenger safety, onboard hospitality, and responsible beverage service. We offer scenic and educational tours of the Hule'ia river, Nawiliwili Harbor, and Kalapaki Bay or cruise the coastline during calm ocean days. Key Responsibilities

• ​Assist captain and crew with boat operations, line handling, docking, and vessel maintenance.
• ​Deliver top-tier, proactive customer service to ensure guest safety and enjoyment.
• ​Assist passengers with boarding, offloading, drink service and special request.
• ​Maintain clear, clear, effective communication with guests, crew, and management at all times.
• ​Keep the vessel clean, organized, and ready for daily operations.
• Stock, organize, and secure the onboard bar.
• Serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages responsibly.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and accurate inventory records.

​Qualifications & Requirements

• ​Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills with a welcoming, customer-forward attitude.
• ​Communication: Clear, effective verbal communication skills under all conditions.
• ​Reliability: Reliable personal transportation to and from Nāwiliwili Small Boat Harbor.
• ​Work Ethic: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a proactive team-player mentality.
• ​Physical Fitness: Ability to work on your feet, handle lines, lift heavy gear, and work outdoors in marine conditions.
• Bartending: Experience preferred but willing to train the right person.
• This is a safety-sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug test. Employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.​

Compensation
$25.00 – $30.00/hour + tips
