Duties

• Assist with boat handling, mooring, and docking operations to ensure safe and efficient vessel movement
• Perform routine maintenance on water transportation equipment, including cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs
• Support crew with rigging, rope handling at sea, and mechanical tasks to keep vessels in top condition
• Follow maritime safety procedures diligently, including firefighting drills and first aid responses
• Communicate effectively with crew members using maritime communication protocols to coordinate daily operations
• Conduct vessel safety checks and maintain logs in compliance with US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations

Requirements

• Strong communication skills for effective teamwork onboard and with shore personnel
• Physical stamina to handle rope work at sea, perform maintenance tasks, and work in various weather conditions
