Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Deckhand to join our team. As a Deckhand, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and enjoyment of our boat tours. This position is perfect for someone who loves the ocean, enjoys working in a dynamic team, and thrives in a customer-facing role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the safe operation and maintenance of the vessel.
- Handle mooring lines during departures and dockings.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of the vessel, including decks and equipment.
- Greet and assist passengers, ensuring their safety and comfort during tours.
- Support the Captain in emergency situations and routine operations.
- Provide outstanding customer service, including helping with snorkeling gear and answering questions.
Qualifications:
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- SCUBA certification
- Basic seamanship skills; experience handling mooring lines and operating small equipment.
- Knowledge of boat safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience as a Deckhand or in a similar maritime role.
- Knowledge of the local marine environment and Hawaiian culture.
- Experience with snorkeling equipment is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
