Deckhand.Divemaster

This position is a part-time, fill-in position. Trips are on a fixed schedule and applicant must be able to work when the trips are. Most trips are 3 days, requiring the applicant be at sea for the length of the trip.

As a fill-in, the applicant should already possess strong understanding of how to work aboard a dive boat, fill tanks, run compressors, pull fins, and provide great customer service. Preference will be given to active or past divemasters, those with strong boating skills, and experience with handling lines is a strong plus. This is not an entry level or training offered position.

Prior dive boat experience is not required, but will put the applicant at the front of the list for contact.

Duties

• Assist with vessel handling, docking, and navigation to ensure smooth operations
• Operate machinery such a dive compressors
• Provide great customer service
• Assist in passenger safety
• With the dynamic nature of the marine environment, perform any other duties as assigned or required
• Communicate effectively with crew members to coordinate daily operations and safety measures

Requirements

• Certification in diving, first aid, CPR, firefighting, and maritime safety procedures is highly desirable
• Strong rope handling skills at sea and familiarity with vessel mechanical work are preferred
• Excellent communication skills for effective crew coordination and customer service interactions
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy gear, working at heights, and enduring outdoor conditions in any weather

Pay: $225.00 - $405.00 per day

Experience:

• scuba tank filling: 1 year (Preferred)
• prior dive boat: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Divemaster Certification and DM Insurance? (Preferred)
