Responsibilities

  • Secure and release crane rigs to and from barges and vessels using lines and cables
  • Inspect cables and rigging components on the crane deck for safety and functionality
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment and machinery as needed
  • Provide clear directional signals to crane operators during operations
  • Lubricate crane buckets to ensure smooth operation
  • Assist in drafting barges and managing barge covers
  • Handle general rigging and repositioning of barges
  • Maintain cleanliness and uphold safety standards on decks, barges, and ship holds
  • Refuel equipment and cranes as necessary
  • Support general upkeep and maintenance of the crane rig
  • Report all incidents promptly according to company protocols
  • Actively participate in and support company safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor and use hand tools
  • Understanding of safety protocols and procedures
