Job Description

Chief Mate– Tugboat (West Coast, AK, HI) | $165K–$180K

We’re hiring experienced Mates to operate tug vessels along the West Coast, Western Alaska, and Hawaii. If you’re looking for a rewarding career, great compensation, and a company that supports its crews, we’d like to talk.

What You’ll Get

  • $742.26/day (includes ATO)

  • $135,000–$140,000+ annual equivalent

  • 1 day paid time off earned for every day worked

  • The Role

  • Command of tugs in West Coast towing operations

  • Safe navigation and vessel handling in the waters of Western Alaska, Washington, and British Columbia

  • Leadership of crew and coordination with shoreside operations

  • Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism

You’ll be working with a team that understands tug operations and supports the crew—not the other way around.

What We’re Looking For

  • Mate of Towing (Near Coastal or Oceans)
  • Valid STCW and Medical Certificate
  • Current First Aid / CPR certification
  • Ability to obtain HAZWOPER within 90 days of hire
  • Valid driver’s license and U.S. passport
  • Experience as Mateon the West Coast strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English ‍
