Serve as 1st Assistant Engineer , supporting the safe and efficient operation of U.S.-flag bulk carriers on the Great Lakes. Assist the Chief Engineer with daily engine room operations, machinery maintenance, and regulatory compliance for vessels transporting commodities such as limestone, coal, iron ore, and salt.

Key Duties

Lead engine room watches and oversee operational readiness.
Conduct inspections and routine maintenance of machinery and systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and support repairs.
Ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Help maintain regulatory compliance and required documentation.
