What we are looking for:
Standing Tide Crew Management is currently seeking qualified Assistant Engineers looking to work onboard various limited tonnage U.S. Flagged vessels. We have open positions for short-term contracts, part-time employment, or full-time rotational positions on various vessels.
Position Summary:
As an Assistant Engineer, you will work under the Chief Engineer overseeing the daily operation, monitoring, and preventative maintenance of all primary propulsion and auxiliary machinery. You will actively troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to ensure minimal downtime, as well as general fabrication skills. In addition, you will maintain engine room logs, manage fuel and fluid transfers, and enforce strict adherence to environmental and maritime safety regulations.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Valid U.S. Passport, TWIC, USCG Medical Certificate • National Endorsement: DDE – 4000 (Motor), DDE – Unlimited (Motor), and/or Assistant Engineer – Limited (Motor/Oceans) or higher. • STCW: OICEW (III/1) – Motor (Operational Level) • STCW: Basic Training (VI/1) • STCW: Advanced Fire Fighting ( • STCW: Medical First Aid Provider • STCW: VPDSD • Survival Craft/Lifeboatman (PSC)
