We are currently supporting a respected Maine boatyard seeking an experienced Marine Diesel Mechanic to join their growing service team.
This is a full-time, year-round position working on high-quality yachts and commercial vessels in a professional, well-equipped yard.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain marine diesel engines
- Service inboard propulsion systems and related components
- Perform routine maintenance and major overhauls
- Troubleshoot electrical and fuel systems
- Conduct sea trials and dockside diagnostics
- Maintain accurate service documentation
- Collaborate with yard leadership and technical teams
Preferred Experience
- Strong experience with inboard diesel systems
- Familiarity with brands such as MTU, CAT, Cummins, Volvo Penta, or MAN
- Ability to interpret service manuals and technical schematics
- Experience working in a boatyard or marine service environment
- ABYC certification (preferred but not required)
