Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe operation and navigation of the vessel under the supervision of the captain
- Perform rigging tasks such as securing sails, lines, and equipment to ensure vessel stability and safety
- Conduct routine mechanical inspections and basic maintenance to keep systems functioning smoothly
- Support guest services by providing a welcoming atmosphere, answering questions, and ensuring comfort during trips
- Help with provisioning, food preparation, and cooking to enhance onboard hospitality experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of deck areas, ensuring safety standards are met at all times
- Respond promptly to emergencies or safety concerns, supporting emergency drills and protocols as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in rigging, mechanical work, or maritime operations is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with routine vessel maintenance and troubleshooting
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Experience in hospitality or food preparation is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for providing exceptional guest experiences is key
- Valid safety certifications or willingness to obtain relevant maritime safety training prior to employment
- This position is subject to U.S. Coast Guard regulations; candidates must be able to pass required drug testing.
