Duties
- Diagnose and Repair Outboard Motors.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of marine engines, electrical systems, rigging, and hull components using schematics, precision measuring instruments, calipers, and ohmmeters.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid replacements, belt adjustments, and system calibrations to keep vessels in top condition.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues utilizing schematic diagrams, electrical testing tools, soldering equipment, and power tools to identify root causes efficiently.
- Repair or replace faulty parts including sheet metal components, electrical wiring, rigging hardware, and mechanical assemblies with hand tools and welding techniques.
- Assist with fabrication and assembly of custom parts or modifications to meet specific vessel requirements while adhering to safety standards.
- Use heavy lifting techniques and safety protocols during the handling of large engine components or structural repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for each vessel serviced to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic with a strong background in marine or vehicle maintenance preferred.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, rigging techniques, welding, soldering, fabrication, and heavy lifting procedures.
- Hands-on experience using power tools, hand tools, calipers, sheet metal working equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of electrical systems including wiring diagrams and troubleshooting with ohmmeters; ability to read technical schematics accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to assemble components and perform routine maintenance on complex machinery.
- Experience working with military-grade equipment or in environments requiring high standards of safety and precision is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
