Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Mechanic to join our dedicated team, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of marine vessels and equipment. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and rigging techniques to ensure optimal vessel performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, hands-on experience with service and maintenance tasks, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on marine vessels using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform routine maintenance including engine overhauls, system inspections, and component replacements.
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting involving soldering, wiring diagrams, and electrical system diagnostics.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of new equipment or vessel modifications with attention to safety standards.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or cumbersome parts during maintenance activities.
- Maintain detailed service records, update schematics, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and offering maintenance recommendations.
- Support sales efforts by explaining technical features of services or products to clients when appropriate.
Experience
- Proven service technician experience within the marine or heavy machinery industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with schematics, assembly, fabrication.
- Electrical experience including wiring, soldering, troubleshooting using multimeters or ohmmeters.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance, rigging operations, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and work with precision measuring instruments.
- Prior experience in customer service roles is beneficial.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting tasks combined with attention to safety protocols.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
