Join our dynamic maritime team as a Deckhand, where your energy and enthusiasm will contribute to smooth sailing and exceptional onboard experiences. As a vital member of the crew, you will assist with daily vessel operations, ensure safety protocols are followed, and provide outstanding service to guests. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in rigging, mechanical systems, and hospitality while working in a lively, team-oriented environment. Paid and rewarding, this position is perfect for motivated individuals eager to learn and grow. This job is a come home everyday , not live on. The work schedule is 4/2 - 4 days, off two, 4 nights off two, rotates like that. Two job locations Destrehan and Ama.
Responsibilities
- Assist with rigging tasks, including securing lines, setting up sails or equipment, and maintaining deck hardware to ensure vessel stability and safety.
- Support mechanical operations by performing routine checks on engines, pumps, and other onboard systems under supervision.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the deck area, ensuring all safety equipment is accessible and in good condition.
- Support safety drills and emergency procedures, including life-saving equipment checks and passenger safety briefings.
- Collaborate with team members to execute daily tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude and proactive approach.
Experience
- Prior experience or training in rigging or mechanical systems is highly desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Strong interest in maritime operations, hospitality, or customer service roles preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor that enhances guest interactions.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols related to maritime environments is a plus but can be learned on the job.
