Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Marine Mechanic/Rigger to join our team! Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, and related mechanical components using schematics and technical manuals.
- Rig, assemble, and install marine equipment, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters to verify component specifications and electrical integrity.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and rigging procedures for compliance and quality assurance.
- Conduct heavy lifting operations safely while adhering to safety protocols; utilize sheet metal work for fabrication or repair tasks as needed.
- Interpret schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems; perform wiring repairs or replacements with electrical experience.
- Collaborate with team members to execute vessel assembly or disassembly projects efficiently while providing excellent customer service when interacting with clients or project managers.
Requirements
- Proven service technician experience in marine or heavy machinery environments with a strong mechanical background.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, welding, soldering, sheet metal work, and fabrication processes.
- Experience working in military settings or with military-grade equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, calipers, heavy lifting equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices applicable to marine vessels or related machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with troubleshooting skills in electrical systems; experience with ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
