- Conduct thorough inspections of marine vessels using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical or electrical issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, propulsion systems, electrical wiring, sheet metal components, and hydraulic systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and precision measuring instruments to execute repairs with accuracy.
- Interpret schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and wiring harnesses.
- Execute rigging tasks such as installing or repairing lifting gear, securing equipment, and fabricating custom parts as needed.
- Engage in heavy lifting and physical tasks safely while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all repairs performed for compliance and quality assurance purposes.
- Assist with assembly of new vessels or components using mechanical knowledge and fabrication skills.
- Support customer service efforts by explaining repair work clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Participate in regular maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns and extend vessel lifespan.
- Proven service technician experience within the marine or heavy machinery industry is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge paired with electrical experience; familiarity with schematics is essential.
- Experience working with military-grade equipment or in a military environment is a plus.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including welding techniques), soldering tools, calipers, ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Demonstrated ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Background in vehicle maintenance or fabrication enhances capability for diverse repair tasks.
- Experience with sheet metal work and rigging operations is desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with sales aptitude can help foster positive client relationships.
