As a Marine Mechanic, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on boats and marine engines, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks to ensure vessel reliability
- Perform engine re-powers on vessels equipped with outboard motors
- Conduct thorough inspections of marine engines, propulsion systems, and related components using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals
- Repair or replace electrical wiring, rigging components, and mechanical assemblies using hand tools and power tools
- Assist with vessel assembly, rigging setups, and heavy lifting tasks to facilitate repairs or installations
- Maintain detailed service records, update maintenance logs, and communicate repair progress effectively with management
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and environmental regulations while delivering exceptional customer service
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or Marine Mechanic with strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and electrical systems relevant to marine vessels
- Proficiency in electrical work including soldering, wiring repairs, and use of electrical testing tools like ohmmeters
- Skilled in rigging techniques, fabrication processes, fiberglass repair
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, heavy lifting equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices applicable to marine vessels or similar machinery
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients/management
- Strong attention to detail when using precision measuring instruments for accurate repairs
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while working independently or as part of a team

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
