Responsible for supporting daily harbor operations while providing excellent service in a professional, energetic, and fun waterfront setting. This role combines marina operations with hospitality-style service to create a welcoming experience for boaters.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with safe docking and departure of vessels.
- Handle dock lines, fenders, and mooring equipment to properly secure boats.
- Provide friendly and attentive service throughout the marina.
- Maintain clean and organized docks, walkways, and harbor areas.
- Assist with pump-out services for vessels when needed.
- Monitor marina activity to ensure safety procedures and club policies are followed.
- Support marina staff with daily harbor operations and club events.
- Perform light maintenance and upkeep of docks and equipment.
Tips & Additional Earnings
- In addition to hourly wages, dockhands often receive tips for assisting with docking, handling lines, pump-out services, and providing helpful service.
- Providing quick, professional, and friendly assistance can increase tip earnings during busy boating periods.

Duties
- Assist with mooring and unmooring vessels, ensuring secure docking using proper rigging techniques
- Perform routine maintenance on boats and harbor equipment, including mechanical checks and minor repairs
- Support loading and unloading cargo or passenger gear safely and efficiently
- Help with safety drills, emergency procedures, and maintaining safety equipment on site
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and ensuring a welcoming environment
- Contribute to hospitality efforts by assisting with onboard catering or hospitality services when needed
- Maintain cleanliness of docks, decks, and common areas to promote a safe and organized workspace
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of rigging techniques and mechanical systems relevant to maritime operations
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Experience or interest in hospitality or catering is a plus
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently and work effectively as part of a team
- Prior maritime experience is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
