Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced First / Second Mate to join our maritime team. In this vital role, you will assist in navigating and managing vessel operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency at sail. Responsibilities
- Assist the Captain in navigation, watchkeeping, and operational decision-making to ensure safe passage.
- daily maintenance and cleaning of entire ship.
- Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment, lifesaving appliances, and vessel systems to maintain compliance with maritime regulations.
- Support the management of vessel stability, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting mechanical issues as they arise. loading, unloading, or securing cargo safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the crew to implement safety protocols and emergency procedures during drills or real incidents.
- Maintain detailed logs of voyage activities, safety checks, and maintenance records to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a maritime environment with a strong understanding of vessel operations. (preferred)
- Military background or experience is desirable for leadership and discipline skills.
- Demonstrated management capabilities in coordinating tasks timely and effectively.
- Solid mechanical knowledge related to ship systems and engines.
- Familiarity with maritime safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to perform rigging tasks accurately and efficiently under varying conditions.
