Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated High-Temperature Pressure Vessel Design Engineer specializing in ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes and standards. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to lead the design, analysis, and certification of advanced pressure vessels operating under extreme temperature conditions. Focus on geometry, loads, welds, nozzles, and ensuring code compliance. Qualifications
- Required Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years designing pressure vessels or high-temperature equipment
- Expert knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div 1 & Div 2
- Experience applying: Design by Rule, Design by Analysis, Allowable stress calculations, Weld joint efficiency & reinforcement rules.
- Familiarity with: High-temperature piping systems, Thermal expansion accommodation, Nozzle design, flange design, gasket selection, Layout for insulation, heat tracing, or refractory
- Ability to work with fabricators on manufacturability
- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Onshape, Inventor)
Nice to Have
- ASME Section IX (Welding) familiarity
- API 579 (Fitness for Service) basics
- Experience with nickel alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy, 316L at high temperature)
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
