Job description

We seek a skilled marine operator/technician currently based in San Diego, with proven expertise in preventive maintenance, vessel towing/launching, cleaning, and maneuvering small craft in confined spaces and open waters. You will oversee Voltari's demo workboats in the region, managing preparation, transportation, launching, and full lifecycle care. while providing essential support to our sales and marketing efforts.

A flexible schedule is essential; the job requires some travel (sometimes at short notice) both within and beyond the San Diego and California regions, as well as occasional weekend and/or evening work.

The ideal candidate loves both boating and people and enjoys a job that brings something different every day.

EV experience is an asset, but not mandatory.

Duties

• Perform Maintenance, cleaning and transporting/towing of marine vessels belonging to VOLTARI’s demo fleet and clients.
• Support the Marketing/Sales team by managing the demo fleet vessels, including preparation, transportation, launching, charging, and cleaning of vessels for various demos or events.
• Proper post use care of vessels. Pull boats onto the trailer, clean and flush systems, and tow back to the regional home base in San Diego.
• Respond to problems promptly and effectively, demonstrating strong decision-making skills.
• Maintain accurate logs of operations, including service and maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Must be a resident of California and live in the San Diego area.
• US citizenship or a valid work visa and passport are required.
• Proven experience in a similar role within the maritime industry is an asset.
• Strong experience with towing/launching/operating vessels in the 25-40’ range (8,000 +lbs.) Candidates will be tested in crowded situations around city traffic, and in tight launches and parking spots.
• Valid driver’s licence
• Ability to drive, launch and train new operators to drive a boat.
• Criminal record check required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to boat service operations and maintenance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Knowledge of navigation systems, weather patterns, and maritime rules is essential.

Pay: USD 25-30 per hour. Depending on experience.
