RESPONSIBILITIES:
Crowley is actively hiring for a Third Mate on the ATB Aurora in Western Alaska. This position is a great fit for someone looking for adventure! Have you ever wanted to see a walrus or a polar bear at work? This is your chance!
This position does require the candidate to join the International Organization of Masters, Mates, and Pilots union as part of their onboarding after accepting a job offer.
Required Experience
Minimum Qualifications and Credentials
Mate 1600 Gross Tons Oceans
Mate of Towing Vessels or completed TOAR (preferred)
Current GMDSS, ECDIS ARPA, Radar and Advanced Firefighting certificates
First Aid / CPR
Valid STCW with all required endorsements (including, but not limited to: Mate, GMDSS, and Advanced Firefighting)
TWIC
Valid Passport – must be able to travel internationally with no felonies, DUI, or other convictions which would restrict entry into Canada or other nations
PIC Barge [DL]
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Familiarity with ATB or conventional tug barge
Familiarity with Multi-grade and/or Chemical cargo transfer experience
Familiarity with all aspects of cargo and ballast operations and regulations
Prior experience with Inert Gas or Nitrogen system operations preferred
Candidate will be required to show competence in supporting deck and engineering operations

Pay
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Compensation, including hourly wages or salary, benefits, and other terms of employment, will be in accordance with the applicable union contract. Specific pay rates and benefits will be provided during the hiring process and are based on the terms outlined in the agreement.
