Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Marine Boat Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing a variety of marine vessels. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with boat systems, electrical and mechanical components, and fabrication techniques. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring optimal vessel performance. A strong background in service technician work, schematics interpretation, and hands-on use of power tools is essential. The Marine Boat Mechanic will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service through quality maintenance and repairs, ensuring safety and reliability on the water.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair marine engine systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical components using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, system inspections, and part replacements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and precision measuring instruments for fabrication and repair tasks
- Conduct rigging operations to install or modify boat hardware and systems
- Interpret electrical diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot wiring issues using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools
- Perform heavy lifting of boat parts and equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Fabricate or modify parts using sheet metal, welding techniques, or other fabrication methods as needed
- Assist with assembly of boat components during manufacturing or repair processes
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and ensuring satisfaction with services rendered
Experience
- Proven service technician experience with marine vessels or similar mechanical systems
- Strong electrical experience including wiring, schematics interpretation, soldering, and troubleshooting electrical faults
- Mechanical knowledge related to engine systems, rigging, vehicle maintenance, and fabrication techniques
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, calipers, heavy lifting procedures, and maintenance practices
- Background in military service or related fields is a plus due to discipline and technical skills
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance or assembly processes is advantageous
- Prior experience working with heavy machinery or in environments requiring precision measurement instruments such as ohmmeters is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients

Pay: $25.84 - $35.00 per hour
