Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Marine Boat Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of marine vessels and boat systems. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections and troubleshooting of marine engines, electrical systems, rigging, and mechanical components using schematics and precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on boat hulls, sheet metal parts, and structural components through welding, soldering, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, calipers, ohmmeters, and heavy lifting equipment to complete maintenance tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to diagnose issues related to electrical wiring, power systems, and mechanical assemblies.
- Execute routine vehicle maintenance procedures on marine vessels to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with team members to fabricate custom parts or modifications using sheet metal or other materials as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction with all work performed.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance logs, and inspection reports in compliance with safety regulations.
- Support sales efforts by advising customers on maintenance needs or upgrades for their watercraft.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic specializing in marine or vehicle maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and heavy lifting gear.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams related to marine systems.
- Experience working with electrical systems including wiring harnesses, circuit boards, ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques and fabrication processes specific to marine vessels.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately for assembly or repair tasks.
- Prior military experience or background in heavy equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions. Pay: $15.00 - $45.00 per hour
