Join our dynamic team as a Marine Mechanic, where you will be at the forefront of maintaining, repairing, and optimizing a wide range of marine vessels and equipment. As a Marine Mechanic, you will utilize your mechanical expertise and technical skills to troubleshoot complex systems, perform routine maintenance, and deliver exceptional service to our valued customers. Your hands-on approach and attention to detail will help keep our fleet in top condition, supporting safe and reliable maritime operations.
Duties:
- Diagnose and repair marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical components, and hydraulic systems using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, inspections, and system calibrations to ensure optimal vessel performance
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters for assembly and repairs
- Conduct fabrication and sheet metal work to modify or repair vessel structures or components as needed
- Assist with rigging tasks involving lifting, securing loads, and installing equipment using appropriate tools and techniques
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to troubleshoot electrical systems effectively
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and comply with industry regulations while providing excellent customer service by explaining work performed
Experience Desired:
- Proven service technician experience in marine or heavy equipment maintenance is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters
- Experience with welding, soldering, sheet metal fabrication, and rigging operations is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills combined with sales aptitude for recommending maintenance solutions when appropriate
Job Details:
- 40 hour work week winters, 50 hour work week summers.
- Monday - Friday 8-4:30 (winter), 8-6 (summer).
