OYSTER BAY YACHT CLUB
Purpose: To provide a first-class experience to members, their guests and other visitors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Responsibilities include General Club and Marina maintenance, Marina operations and Club Special Event set-ups. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
DAILY:
Marina:
Visually check all Boats& Marina
Check vessels water lines
Check boat Lines
Check boat Fenders
Inspect dock cleanliness
Inspect vessel power cables
Monitor Weather for Tide, Wind for issues and alert Boaters
Assure all activity at Marina proceeds in a safe manner
Direct all Boat Operations and assign slips as needed and provide updates to general manager
Assist boat Captains and Crew with Docking
Club Exterior and Grounds:
Inspect Property including road for problems or trash. Correct as required
Check Pool Safety Apparatus
Maintain Pool Operations
Chaise lounge cushions out in AM and store at end of day and impending storms
Inspect and replace light bulbs as needed
Blow front entrance, exterior stairs, Villa entrance
Fitness Center inspected for cleanliness, empty trash can, refill water, replenish cups and Clorox wipes
Pool chemicals to be tested to keep in compliance with health department
Clubhouse Interior:
Open Club
Inspect for any safety issues
Check Club Ice Machine for proper operation
Check Club Lighting condition, light bulbs replaced as needed
Inspect Club Interior for proper order
Close Club Lock all Doors and Set Alarm
WEEKLY:
Marina:
Check Courtesy lights
Inspect Fire Extinguishers
Inspect Pedestal water service
Empty trash receptacles Friday and Tuesday
Test Pump-Out System
Pressure wash floating docks and pier as needed
Check inside timers
Club Exterior and Grounds:
Check Pool Mechanical Check all Decking Boards
Check timers for parking lot and Club areas for operation and timing
Water and trim foyer plants
Replenish propane as needed
Clubhouse Interior:
Clean Pool Deck
Check Stairs for trash, lights
Check inside timers
Check floor fans, outdoor patio heaters for cleanliness and operation
MONTHLY:
Marina:
Check pedestals for cleanness and insects
Check all Dock Cleats for soundness, adjust as needed
Cycle all electrical circuit breakers
Club Exterior and Grounds:
Inspect Pool structure for problems
Check Bridge for trash and debris
Inspect verandah curtains for cleanliness
Inspect/replace water softener salt
Clubhouse Interior:
Inspect exposed roof rafters for insects, cleanliness
Check Air Conditioners Filters and Drain Lines
Inspect Commodore ceiling for mildew/clean as needed
QUARTERLY:
Marina:
Check piling guides and wear plates
Inspect all Whaler boards, secure as needed
Check Water Shut-Off Valve for corrosion and lubricate
Check Dock Fender/Rub Rail and secure as needed
Club Exterior and Grounds:
Check for and pick up trash in marsh area
Pressure wash Pool Deck and Kitchen entrance
Repair paint or stain damage
Inspect and Clean-Out Storm Drains in Parking Lot and Landscape
Inspect operation of Irrigation System
Clubhouse Interior:
Clean Ceiling Fans
Clean Elevator Door Track
Change water filter in Ice Machine
YEARLY:
Marina:
Visually inspect Electrical system, breakers, pedestals, fixtures, photocells
Inspect Water Systems, Flush System, check Main Valve
Inspect all Dock systems for soundness
Club Exterior and Grounds:
Wash/Clean Air Conditioner Compressor external coils
Inspect Water System
Clean Rain Gutters and Down Spouts
Clean Teak Furniture
Clubhouse Interior:
Initiate annual required Fire Inspection by local Authorities
Bleach Air Conditioner Drains
Inspect trees for any health or safety Issues
Working Conditions : Most work is done outdoors, in variable weather conditions.
Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift overhead and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proficient at completing task in a timely manner.
Steady, verifiable work history.
Be available and dependable for setting up all special events as needed
