- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on marine vessels, including engines, propulsion systems, electrical wiring, and hydraulic components.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system calibrations to ensure optimal vessel performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments like calipers and ohmmeters, and welding equipment to execute repairs with precision.
- Fabricate and modify sheet metal parts or components as needed for custom repairs or upgrades.
- Assist with rigging tasks including lifting heavy equipment safely using appropriate rigging techniques.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports to track repair history and support warranty processes.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Support vessel assembly or disassembly during major overhauls or upgrades.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during maintenance activities to promote a safe working environment.
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or Marine Mechanic with hands-on mechanical knowledge of marine systems.
- Strong electrical experience including reading schematics and using testing tools like ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with military standards or experience working in military environments is a plus.
- Skilled in rigging, fabrication, welding (including soldering), and sheet metal work.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting techniques, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices applicable to marine vessels or related equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
- Experience with maintenance of heavy machinery or vehicles is advantageous.
