Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on various marine vessels including engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and rigging components
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately troubleshoot issues
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments like calipers and ohmmeters, and welding equipment to complete repairs and fabrication tasks
- Conduct heavy lifting safely while handling large components such as sheet metal or engine parts during maintenance or assembly procedures
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed using welding and sheet metal skills to meet specific vessel requirements
- Assist with vessel assembly, rigging, electrical wiring, soldering connections, and system upgrades to enhance performance
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and offering maintenance advice to clients
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or Marine Mechanic with strong mechanical knowledge of marine engines and systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately
- Prior military experience or background in heavy vehicle maintenance is highly desirable
- Electrical experience including wiring, soldering, troubleshooting circuits, and using ohmmeters
- Skilled in rigging techniques for lifting or securing heavy components safely during repairs or installation
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including sheet metal welding), calipers, soldering irons, and precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of fabrication processes involving sheet metal work and assembly procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in precision tasks
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
- Experience with vehicle maintenance or industrial machinery is a plus but not mandatory
