Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Deck Engineer to join our innovative maritime team. Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and repair of deck machinery, including winches, cranes, mooring equipment, and other deck systems.
- Assist in the safe loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring compliance with operational procedures and safety protocols.
- Monitor vessel stability and trim during cargo operations to maintain optimal balance and safety.
- Collaborate with the navigation team to support vessel maneuvering and docking procedures.
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules based on manufacturer guidelines and operational data.
- Support the integration of innovative technologies such as quantum engineering applications to enhance system efficiency and performance.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and operational logs in accordance with maritime regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Deck Engineer or similar maritime engineering role on commercial vessels or research ships.
- Strong understanding of deck machinery operation, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.
- Familiarity with quantum engineering concepts as they relate to maritime systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive approach to safety and operational excellence.
