Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on marine vessels, including engines, electrical systems, rigging, sheet metal components, and hydraulic systems.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters, welding equipment, soldering tools, and fabrication techniques to complete tasks efficiently.
- Conduct heavy lifting and rigging operations safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs for all work performed.
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of vessel components during repairs or upgrades.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with all services rendered.
- Perform custom work to upgrade vessels to the newest technology out there.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic in marine or heavy equipment environments.
- Preferably certified in any of the following certifications: NMEA, ABYC, Mercury, Yamaha, etc.
- Has at least 1-2 years of marine mechanic/technician experience.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, calipers, sheet metal fabrication tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Electrical experience with troubleshooting electrical systems using ohmmeters or similar diagnostic tools.
- Experience with rigging, assembly processes, fabrication work, and vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
- Prior military experience in technical or mechanical roles is a plus but NOT required.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in various environmental conditions.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for marine vessels or similar machinery is preferred.
