Resolve Marine
Brief Description The Salvage Naval Architect (SNA) reports to the Salvage Master while on project sites and to the Engineering Manager and the Director of Projects. This position supports Resolve Marine’s global emergency response, salvage, and wreck removal operations. While supporting these operations, the position responsibilities range from development of emergency response and wreck removal technical plans, engineering support for field operations and fleet support, as well as onsite field Naval Architecture support.
Due to the nature of Resolve Marine’s operational requirements, this position requires immediate travel if an emergency response or salvage operation is initiated. Our SNA’s will potentially travel offsite of their home office for extended durations, with a maximum single deployment of approximately 12 weeks at any given time. Our SNA’s travel the world supporting operations to save and salvage ships and marine vessels, conduct vessel wreck removal operations and emergency repairs, as such this is not primarily an office setting position.
Position Responsibilities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Ocean Engineering.
Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in a field or production setting (salvage industry strongly preferred).
2-3 years of experience as a Junior Salvage Naval Architect (JSNA); advancing to SNA from the position of JSNA requires review and qualification, recommendation of the Engineering Manager and approval of the Director of Projects.
Experience with the development and completion of construction drawings using CAD drafting.
Experience with emergency ship repair procedures, salvage and wreck removal processes is strongly preferred.
Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain EIT certification in Florida (if not already PE licensed).
Professional Engineer license strongly preferred.
Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer license in Florida (if not already licensed).
Computer Skills:
GHS, AutoCad, Microsoft Office Suite Including Excel, Microsoft Project also desired
Proficient in hydrostatic calculations including the development of 3D hull models for using in stability software, with experience with GHS software strongly preferred.
Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD software. Proficiency in a 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor is also desired.
Supervisory Requirements
Travel Requirement Up to 50 - 75% travel is required. If additional, travel is required beyond the specified amount, based on the operational demand, you will be notified accordingly so arrangements can be made.
