Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical components, and hydraulic systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters to execute maintenance tasks with accuracy.
- Conduct rigging operations, sheet metal fabrication, assembly work, and heavy lifting to support vessel modifications and repairs.
- Interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex electrical issues on vessels.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete maintenance logs, and ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality protocols.
- Assist with vessel commissioning, system upgrades, and fabrication projects while adhering to strict safety guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the maintenance process.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic in marine or related industries; military background is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, calipers, sheet metal working tools, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams accurately.
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting electrical systems with ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with rigging procedures, fabrication techniques, assembly processes, and maintenance of marine or vehicle systems.
- Experience working with heavy machinery or vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Ability to perform precision measurements using specialized instruments; experience with soldering and welding is preferred.
