What You’ll Do
As part of our vessel maintenance team, you’ll perform repairs, maintenance and inspection work on tugboats and barges as directed by the Port Engineer.
Responsibilities may include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Diesel engine maintenance and repair
- Working on marine electronics and vessel support systems
- Fabrication and repair projects
- Assisting with HVAC and plumbing-related maintenance
- Using tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Working collaboratively to complete projects efficiently and safely
Skills & Experience We Value

- Marine electronics
- Diesel engines and mechanical systems

- Basic plumbing (threaded and crimp-style piping)
✅ What Makes You a Great Fit
- Marine experience, including work and/or maintenance on tugs and barges, preferred
- 5+ years of mechanical experience/knowledge performing diagnosis, repairs and maintenance on CAT, Detroit, and Cummins, preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Physically able to board tugs and barges
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Able to work independently with little guidance
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Commitment to safety and doing quality work
- Willing and able to work overtime as directed by supervisor to meet operational demands
