About the role
Salish Sea Tours offers guests an unforgettable on-the-water experience exploring the beautiful waters of Puget Sound. We're looking for energetic, safety-conscious Deckhands to help us deliver exceptional tours while keeping guests safe, engaged, and excited about the Pacific Northwest.
What you'll do
- Assist with vessel boarding, departure, and docking procedures in a safe and orderly manner
- Greet and orient guests, providing safety briefings and ensuring compliance with vessel rules
- Monitor guest activity onboard and respond quickly to any safety concerns
- Support the captain and crew in all aspects of tour operations
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the vessel before, during, and after tours
- Serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ambassador for the Salish Sea and Pacific Northwest
- Assist with light food and beverage service as needed
What we're looking for
- Comfortable working on the water in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and a guest-first attitude
- Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or unexpected situations
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience in marine, hospitality, or outdoor tour operations
- MAST certification (Class 12) or ability and willingness to obtain one before first shift
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Familiarity with Puget Sound, Pacific Northwest wildlife, or local maritime history
