Job Overview
Lawson Marine Service is a leader in industrial construction, specializing in rigging, ironwork, demolition, and material handling and millwright, as well as marine construction. Lawson Marine offers a staging area for loaded and empty barges from incoming tow boats, held and moved as needed for fleeting to grain elevator; we assist arriving and departing tow boats with any tow work they may need, including through train bridge; we are capable of providing top-side repairs above the waterline on barges and tug boats.
We are searching for a Pilot to join our dynamic team in our harbor operations. The Pilot is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of tugboats engaged in fleet and harbor operations. This role includes vessel navigation, docking and undocking assistance, barge movements, and coordination with authorities, customers and internal teams. The Pilot ensures compliance with federal regulations, company policies, and best marine practices while maintaining a strong focus on safety, communication, and operational excellence.
