Smoky Mountain H2O Sports, LLC has a position open for a mechanic with a strong background in boat maintenance and mechanics. This position is full-time and year-round even though the boat rental aspect is seasonal. The individual that fills this position must be able to provide their own basic tools. There will be potential to make additional income during the winter months doing other outside jobs.
H2O Sports is a family-owned boat and waverunner rental company that’s been in business for over 35 years and is looking for someone to join the family business long term. We are one of the largest boat rental companies in the country under the backdrop of Smoky Mountain National Park. With just a short drive, you will be in the heart of everything Pigeon Forge offers. For example, you can visit Dollywood or attend one of the many dinner shows in the area.

This position assists in all areas of boat maintenance, replacement of components, oil changes, documenting accurately and timely, and operations of boats and equipment. Responsible for maintaining repairs of all boats and equipment in a timely manner for the safety of all guests. Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards customers and co-workers. Work closely with the office and owners in order to support and ensure accurate trouble-shooting and customer problem resolution. No certifications are required but mechanical marine engine required; specifics can be trained, knowledge of Mercury outboard motors and Yamaha waverunner engines is a plus.
· Experience preferred with: Hand tools, drills, saws, and other machinery equipment
· Knowledge of outboard marine engines and outboard motors
· Troubleshoot mechanical failures aboard vessels at the dock or on the lake
· Must be able to stabilize and balance on uneven and moving surfaces
· Ability to drive and dock all vessels in the fleet
· Requires occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
· Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Must have a valid US driver’s license
This position is a very busy and is physically demanding with long hours during the summer season. The winter months are quieter.
Compensation: Negotiable at approximately $40,000 plus tips and other perks possible.
