Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Mechanic Diesel and Gas Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of marine diesel and gas engines, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Diagnose and repair marine diesel and gas engines using detailed schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting utilizing tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters.
- Use power tools, hand tools, calipers, and precision measuring instruments to ensure precise assembly and repairs
- Rigging of engine components and systems for installation or repair projects
- Conduct heavy lifting safely during engine removal, installation, or component replacement
- Maintain detailed service records and logs of all repairs performed
- Assist with customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
- Support sales efforts by recommending maintenance plans or parts replacements when appropriate
Skills
- Proven service technician experience with marine diesel and gas engines or similar mechanical systems
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing engine assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, micrometers, and heavy lifting techniques
- Experience with vehicle maintenance practices applicable to marine vessels or similar machinery
- computer skills are a plus
